I am spending a month out in Bahrain doing a roof survey in the Wahooo water park in Bahrain. We got roped into (excuse the pun) doing a spot of cleaning as well in our first week here as they were about to open and there was very obvious dust on the big brown pillars that hold up the roof.

On our first day off we headed down the island to the Durat Al Bahrain resort, thinking we could hang out on the beach, but it turns out to be totally private, residents only area. There was not much else down the bottom end of the island, apart from the ‘tree of life’ which is a big tree in the desert, lots of pipelines and lots of sand. We headed over to have a look at the F1 circuit which was pretty impressive, and had some potential rope access work so we dropped off a business card.
